When and where?
Warsaw, Poland – 15-16 November 2014.
Why speak at WordCamp?
Red carpet, fame, a fancy icon on your wordpress.org profile page… Seriously though, speaking at WordCamp is one of many ways to contribute to the WordPress project.
Who are we looking for?
Fans of WordPress willing to share their enthusiasm for this CMS with others, in accordance to the rule “Connect, Inspire, Contribute.”
How will we select the speakers?
Each proposal will be examined carefully for its substantive value. We prefer presentations of high educational value and ones that inspire participants to explore the possibilities of WordPress. We welcome presentations that will encourage participants to actively contribute to the WordPress project and get involved in the WordPress community.
We will not accept sales presentations focusing on the promotion of a particular product or person. If you have a product associated with WordPress and wish to show it off, we suggest that you prepare a presentation about a problem that your product solves and present alternative solutions (it is a good idea to make a comparative analysis).
If you have any doubts, please contact us – we will answer all your questions.
Remember that all of the presented products, both free and commercial, should be available under the GPL license (or compatible with GPL).
This year, we will have three tracks – see their description below. In the application form, pick one that best fits your presentation.
This track is dedicated to presentations that show WordPress in the context of business solutions, e-commerce, work organization and large-scale projects.
Both back-and and front-end. If you want to present a case study on implementing interesting ideas or just want to share your knowledge of WordPress – this is the right path for you. However, be sure that the code you present follows best practices suggested by the WordPress developers.
This track is for people who use WordPress without exploring the details of its implementation. We suggest not to delve into technical details but to focus on how to solve common problems that the less technically minded WordPress users face. We welcome presentations related to visual design solutions for WordPress.
You can submit several proposals for presentations.
